Collage with a ~ Twist ~ Swap
RAK stands for 'Random Act of Kindness' in the stamping world.  It is something that you
mail to someone for no reason at all.  RAKs are freely given without expectation of anything in return. Typically, a RAK is a hand-made card; but it can be anything - candy, hand made jewelry, craft supplies, and magazines are just some of the     things I've received as RAKs.
Swaps are a different  story...

In the Land of Rubber Stamps,  a swap is an event - much like a party! Cards, simple handmade craft items, or glorious works of art are exchanged between participants. Usually, work is swapped on a one-for- one basis, but occasionally the hostess of the swap will keep one of each  person's items. (This kind of swap could then be 6-for-5, or send in 6 to get 5 back.)
The hostess/host of the swap will come up with a theme, idea or specific item. She/he will also set a due date. When all of the participants have contributed their projects (usually by mail), the hostess "swaps them out", or disseminates them to all the people who sent in a project.
Stampers can join in on swaps by reading about them on various Intenet lists, in rubber stamping magazines,  and through bulletin boards at local stamp stores.
The 'twist' in this swap was that the hostess (Gail Vanderster-Zwang)
sent everyone the raw materials to use in our collages. We were allowed
to use our own cardstock, stamps, inks, adhesives & embossing powders. Everything else we used had to come from the materials she provided. Take a look below to see a sampling of all the goodies she sent:
I used 4x6" notebooks as the base for my collages.
I had a wonderful time playing with all of the different mediums. Here's what I created:
